Yuri Flavor RDA

_It’s always great to see new vape companies pop up, and Desire Vape has started out with some promising products. Their Yuri RDA is a pretty tasty bottom airflow atty with tons of potential…

_It’s a pretty clean design, made of great materials and with very good tolerances on the o-rings. The branding on the side of the top cap is a little big for our taste, but it is well etched and pretty nondescript. Inside you will find an interest take on a velocity deck, two screws on the top of the posts and two on the sides. It works well and clamps down on your leads easily. Though switching between screws when building is a bit of a pain. The airflow looks very familiar to the Hobo Drifter, which is a nice compliment and Hoberto did come up with a great idea in that ramped airflow. The top cap is a tad too tall, there is room for improvement by reducing this height which would also further condense the vapor chamber. It also gets pretty hot, so make sure to use a drip tip that gets your mouth away from it.

_Flavour is good. It is a bottom airflow, which always produces good flavour. If the chamber was more condensed we expect the flavour would be vastly improved, but it’s still quite good as it is.

_Airflow is smooth and quiet on almost every AFC setting. We noticed a tiny bit of whistle fully open but the flavour is much better with the AFC open only half way or less. We like the AFC at about 1/3 open for a nice flavourful restricted draw.

_Building on the Yuri is a piece of cake, it’s a velocity deck, they always are. The idea of offsetting the post holes slightly and having the screws come in from the top and bottom is interesting but doesn’t really do anything majorly different from a traditional setup. Give it up for Desire for trying to come up with their own variation instead of a full rip off though. The build we are digging is a 7 wrap, 2.5mm, KA1, dual coil, ohming in at 0.3 and we run it on the low side, 43-46W (3.7-3.85V). This setup produces a flavourful warm vape that not only fits the AFC ramps perfectly but also keeps the top cap from heating up too much. Align your coils vertically between the two post holes and you’re good (about 4-5mm above the airflow ramps).

_The included drip tip and chuff are nice to haves but neither suit our fancy. A narrow bore drip tip will produce better flavour and with a little more height, keep your lips safe from the heat. The chuff is super low profile and definitely has that hauling on a tail pipe thing going on, it’s pleasant on the lips but doesn’t produce the flavour intensity we are looking for. There are plenty of spares and some pretty cool packaging. The O-rings are dialed in and are a pleasure to work with.

   _The Yuri is a decent atty, but the cost makes it an RDA you can’t ignore. It is easily one of the cheapest authentics on the market and it has a build quality to match attys that cost considerably more. The flavour is good, not great, but good. The Yuri is a great atty to buy if you are getting into dripping or want something to take out when you want your more cherished attys home safe. Well done Desire, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with next (they have an RDTA coming, the Desert).
